All of Us Murderers by K.J. Charles (Oct 7, 2025) This was one of those books where I saw the cover and immediately knew it had my name on it. I picked up a copy at @lovestruckbooks in Boston and then listened to the audiobook while driving cross-country.
Zeb Wyckham despises his wealthy, cruel, and deeply unpleasant family, so being summoned to the estate of a rich relative already feels like a nightmare. Waiting for him at Lacaday House are his unbearable brother, his venomous cousin, and his angry ex-lover, Gideon – the man Zeb loved and lost. Things are tense, bitter, and deeply uncomfortable…until they become outright terrifying.
The lord of the manor announces the reason for the gathering: his fortune will go to whichever relative agrees to marry his young ward. Greed erupts immediately. Zeb wants no part of the inheritance or the arrangement and attempts to leave – only to discover the gates are locked. He’s trapped. Then strange, possibly paranormal events begin. Guests start disappearing. And the only person Zeb can trust is the one person he never expected to rely on again: Gideon.
This book is gloriously genre-defying – gothic historical mystery, queer romance, paranormal suspense, and razor-sharp family drama all rolled into one. It’s spooky, dark, romantic, and relentlessly tense, with moments of biting humor woven into deeply disturbing motivations. Every page felt rich and purposeful, and the emotional payoff of the epilogue was immensely satisfying.
🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: Sonny Archer really brings us into this atmospheric story in an excellent way. Completely gripping. I loved it. (8h 23m)
