Sunk in Love by Heather McBreen (Jan 27, 2026) Thank you, @berkleyromance and @prhaudio for the gifted digital and audio copies! #berkleybookstagram #prhaudioinfludencer
Everyone in Roslyn’s family thinks she and her husband Liam are the perfect couple – and for years they were. They made it through Liam’s medical residency and Roslyn’s transition to becoming a romance author. But after the death of Roslyn’s mother, neither knew how to navigate the grief and depression that followed – and they are getting divorced. They just haven’t told Roslyn’s family yet. So when her grandparents ask Liam to officiate their vow renewal on the annual family vacation, Ros and Liam find themselves faking their loving marriage on a cruise ship. But all that faking begins to feel achingly real as they are reminded of the connection that brought them together in the first place.
I love it when the structural decisions an author makes about a book enhance the overall reading experience, and McBreen has done that here with her use of a dual timeline structure. We bounce between the present on the cruise, and vignettes flashing back all the way to their first meeting, pulling the timelines closer together over the course of the story. Make no mistake – these characters are messy. I felt for them both in the baggage they carried that caused them to not bring their full selves into their marriage. It is also just a whole lot of fun cruise-based hijinks with lots of fun tropes that will have you wondering why these nerds ever thought they would end up any way but together.
🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: There’s a reason that Brittany Pressley is the best in the business and this audio performance is a reminder. She gives life to an American-born female character and a British male main character with such believability. (12h 6m)
