Is this a super spicy holiday novella? Absolutely. And it is also a very astute look at the complexities of marriage over time, the mental load that women often carry in a marriage that their husbands don’t see, how marriages evolve over time as individuals change, and the importance of being honest and vulnerable with those we love. It was just really well done! Also, I’ll use this as an opportunity to shout-out Mallory’s debut, Somewhere Along the Line, which is also really wonderful!
