In the final installment of the Bourbon Boys series, we finally get the story of Ace Foxx and Hadley Finch! Ace, the eldest of the brothers, has been the de facto leader of their bourbon empire, set to take the leadership reins from their grandfather when he finally decides to retire. Then his grandfather goes and does something outrageous – he says the company will be divided equally between all of his married grandchildren. Leaving Ace the only one without a cut. Enter Hadley, his brother’s best friend, town darling, local speakeasy owner, and beloved “found family” member of the Foxx clan for years. Hadley offers up a marriage of convenience. But they’ve both been keeping some big secrets.
I love it when we, as readers, are rewarded with the final book in a series when the two characters who have been circling each other the whole time finally get their story – because it feels like a slow-burn even when it isn’t. This book was absolutely tons of fun. It had a very dramatic suspense storyline, matched the danger of book one, while tying up the investigative events of book two. It also gave us an amazing love story for Ace and Hadley while serving as a fantastic conclusion for all of the characters we met along the way. I truly can’t wait for what comes next from Wilder, as I absolutely inhaled these.
🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: Victoria Connolly and Sean Masters are absolute perfection in this duet performance. If you are an audio lover and spicy romance lover, definitely grab this one – and make sure your phone doesn’t auto-connect to any bluetooth devices without pre-planning because there are some SCENES.
