Margo and Ian are caught in a real estate nightmare. They sold their townhouse intending to upsize and start a family but have been stuck in a too-small apartment for far too long as they make offer after offer but are consistently outbid by higher offers or cash offers – no matter how far they stretch their budget. Then Margo hears about a dream home that is yet to hit the market. She’s finally got the inside track and she’ll do anything to get this perfect house in her dream neighborhood. ANYTHING.
So…this book was wildly entertaining and completely unhinged. Margo, honey. Even Thermador appliances are not worth all of this. What starts as curiosity quickly devolves and then devolves some more, and more, and more. You’re not really rooting for anyone in this book, it is much more akin to the irresistible urge to slow down and gawk at the car accident on the highway. I’m not going to go into more details because lack of knowing was part of the fun of the chaos unfolding. SO. MUCH. CHAOS.
🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: (8h 38m) As I mentioned above, this whole story is kind of unhinged and Cia Court does a fantastic job of delivering on that in her portrayal of Margo and Ian.
