In Your Dreams by Sarah Adams (Dec 30, 2025) Thank you, @prhaudio and @dellromance for the #gifted audiobook whee we get to return to Rome, KY one last time! #prhaudioinfluencer
Walker sibling Madison is graduating from culinary school in NYC, but what should have been a shining moment, is most definitely not. She’s had a miserable 2 years and she’s leaving without a job. But when she goes to call her family in Rome, KY, she accidentally calls her brother’s annoying best friend James Huxley. To her surprise, her offers her the head chef position at a farm to table restaurant opening on his family farm – something she had no idea was happening. James had pushed back on his brother’s idea to bring a restaurant to the farm – until Madison accidentally called him. He’s been quietly in love with her for years and, even knowing she doesn’t feel the same, he’d do anything to make her happy – and bring her home.
Is there any better feeling as a reader than a perfectly crafted final book in a series that has held your heart for years? With the finale of the When in Rome series, Adams gives us both a fantastic love story for Madison and James and a pitch-perfect farewell to all of the Walker siblings. James is such a green flag (a hallmark of Sarah’s writing) and Madison is so deeply relatable to in her anxiety. What a gift of a series. It is also fun to see the author’s writing evolve over time – this series in particular has evolved from firmly closed door to open door bit by bit over the four books. For those who are closed-door readers, she does call out the 2 chapters to skip.
🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: I have a high bar for Sarah Adams books on audio, as The Cheat Sheet is one of two “comfort listen” books I discovered during the pandemic years that I have probably listened to 50 times. Chase Brown and Christine Lakin are fantastic. Once you start listening, you won’t be able to stop. Highly recommend. (11 hrs and 12 mins)
