Hostile for the Holidays by Erin Hawkins (Nov 27, 2024) This was my first Erin Hawkins book and I really, really enjoyed it. I’m absolutely going to grab the second in the series. The duet audio is fantastic – I grabbed it on Hoopla!
Years ago, Stella’s childhood neighbor, Jasper, was her ultimate nemesis. From emementray through high school they were at each other’s throats. But Stella has a whole different life now, with a fantastic new promotion and a Chelsea apartment. When she goes to board a flight to travel home for the holidays and her sister’s wedding, she finds herself on the same plane as Jasper. The flight was a catastrophe on many levels but the biggest catastrophe was that the brother of the groom, whom she had a bad one night stand with, is there waiting to pick her up. A NIGHTMARE. She grasps at the first mental thread she can and claims Jasper as her boyfriend. Which is how these lifelong rivals find themselves fake dating for the holidays. Oh, and Jasper has been in love with Stella for almost two decades. Yep. Here we go.
You will fly through this one and have so much fun. Wild families, grand gestures, tons of banter and holiday hijinks are all incredibly entertaining. If you love rivals to lovers, I think you’ll have a great time with this one!
🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: M.K. Blackwood and Connor Crais turn in a fantastic duet performance for this one – they both did a fabulous job and their voices perfectly matched how I imagined the characters (5h 9m)
