Frankie Rossi is looking to escape reality for a bit when she checks into a boutique New England hotel as one of the authors attending a small book convention. Her career is at a standstill and she has a creepy fan stalking her, leaving gifts and notes. But when she arrives at the hotel, she’s surprised to see Turner Reece. Famed baker, her brother’s best friend, her first love, the guy who broke her heart and the one she never go over. And he seems to really see her. And this might be a chance at what Frankie’s always wanted. But then gifts from her stalker start appearing at the hotel as a blizzard bears down, threatening to trap everyone.
Ok, right up front I was so glad that Armas says Turner is NOT Frankie’s stalker. The stalker storyline adds some fun action to this one, but the core really is Frankie and Turner. As they unpack their past – hurts, hearts, and misunderstandings – we also see the electric connection between them. And, it wouldn’t be an Elena Armas book if the confessions of love weren’t also accompanied by some pretty spicy scenes. I thought both Frankie and Turner were fun characters and had a surprising amount of character development for a novella.
🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: (5 hrs and 27 mins) Connor Crais and Kelli Tager do a fantastic job with this duet narration and you can tell that there was a lot of thought that went into making this an audio-only experience. A fun listen for the winter season! The was originally a Spotify exclusive but is now widely available. I grabbed it on Hoopla.
