Event planner Madi heads to Cozy Creek to help out at her grandmother’s bakery while she recovers from an injury…and also to get some space after a breakup. The last thing she is interested in is falling in love. Particularly with firefighter Cole, her grandma’s hot single dad neighbor. When she gets roped into helping plan the firefighter fall fundraiser, they end up spending a lot of time together and as she connects with Cole and his family, she finds herself rethinking what she always thought happiness and success would look like for herself.
What an absolutely adorable story! It perfectly balances a sweet, cozy small town with a spicy romance. It is an age-gap romance and sometimes those are a miss for me but this one worked. As always, when there’s a grandma conspiring to get the couple together, she’ll instantly become my favorite character and that was definitely the case here. This is part of a connected stand-alone series with each book written by a different author. I think I’ll find some time to check out the others in the series.
🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: This duet performance by Stefanie Kay and Bryant Walker is so lovely! They fully embrace the cozy, spicy vibes of the book and at 8 hours, it is a quick listen!
