It’s Different This Time by Joss Richard (Sept 30, 2025) Thank you, @prhaudio and @dellromance for the free audiobook copy of this absolutely stunning debut! #prhaudioinfluencer

When actress June Wood left NYC for LA five years ago, she swore she’d never return but then a cryptic message from a lawyer lures her back. With her most recent TV show just having been cancelled and some potential theater parts on the east coast, she’s decided to see what the lawyer has to say. She never could have imagined that it was all about 74 Perry Street, the address she shared with her roommate Adam Harper for six years. Unbelievably, they’ve inherited the valuable property from their former landlord, despite not having lived there or seen each other in half a decade. Now June and Adam have one month of living in their former residence to sort out what to do with it, as well as to unpack the complex emotions, hurt, and actions that took them from best friends to strangers.

Oh. My word. Told through June’s POV, Richard packed so much heartache and yearning into this beautiful story. Told in a dual timeline, we go back 11 years to find out how June and Adam first became roommates and pivotal moments along the way that brought them from strangers to best friends, to June being a defacto member of Adam’s family, to everything falling apart. And in the present, we navigate their month back on Perry Street and their recognition that friendship wasn’t the extent of what they were to each other, even if they never named it. Can they reclaim that connection after all of these years? And can they do it without losing themselves in the process?

I’m hoping somewhere out there is an Adam POV scene because I WANT IT. We’re talking Eli and Georgia NEED IT.

🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: Ferdelle Capistrano is so good in this solo narration. I genuinely thought Adam was voiced by a second narrator. All of the emotion is beautifully captured in this 11h 25m performance.
