Harriet York has always tried to be a kind and thoughtful person, some might even say she’s a people-pleaser to her own detriment. Ghost of Christmas Past Nolan Callahan has been doing this for a century. Every December he haunts a new person to get them back on track from the errors of their past. The only problem is, Harriet is really NICE. Like, a good person. But as they continue to dive into the past, they begin to uncover something different than either of them first suspected.
So, in 2021 I read Lovelight Farms and it became my absolute favorite holiday romance. For four years, no book came close – until BK Borison wrote another holiday romance. This book is simply perfect. I swooned, laughed, cried uncontrollably, and smiled ear-to-ear. The characters are beautifully rendered, the story is so rich and compelling, there’s a heart-wrenching third act that isn’t a breakup but delivers the most emotionally heavy narrative. And both Harriet and Nolan have important stories of understanding separate from each other that make it a powerful story of personal growth and understanding.
