Game Point by Meg Jones (Sept 9, 2025) Thank you, @avonbooks and @harperaudio for the free digital and audio copies of this fantastic sports romance!
Dylan Bailey is sick of coming in second place. She’s done it in 10 different grand slam events and she is thinking about putting away her racket for good. Then she runs into fellow player Oliver Anderson at a party and he makes her a bet – stay in it and try to win her home country’s Australian Open. If she wins, she’ll have her trophy. If not, Oliver will give her his US Open trophy. Over the course of the following months, Dylan and Oliver strike up an unlikely long-distance friendship as they crisscross the globe for events. And what starts as funny text messages becomes something deeply meaningful to both of them, but when Oliver steps in to coach her, they know they must keep things professional, even as the tug toward something more becomes almost unbearable.
Clean Point was my first fead of 2025 and I have been itching to read Game Point ever since – I’m thrilled to report that it is just as charming as the first! This is peak black cat/golden retriever vibes and Meg Jones develops them beautifully as individuals and as a couple. I especially loved the emphasis on friendship as the bedrock of their relationship, making the eventual romance even more rewarding. This series has quickly become one of my absolute favorites in the sports romance world, and I’m already counting down for more.
🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: Will Watt and Mary Jane Wells do a lovely dual narration performance with excellent British and Australian accents. (11 hrs and 42 mins)
