Chasing Stars by Linny Mack (Sept. 16, 2025) Thank you, @linnymackwrites for the gifted print copy and for introducing me to your Cape May series!

After the death of her mother, Jenna Rossi discovers her mom had never sold their Cape May home. Recently laid off and having lost her apartment, Jenna decides to return to Cape May for the first time in 25 years to see about selling the house. That’s where she meets property manager Miles Corbin. After his divorce a few years ago, Miles decided he doesn’t do long-term or emotional connections. He works, hooks up with an occasional no-strings tourist, and spends his time surfing. He’s inexplicably drawn to Jenna, feeling bad that she’s been saddled with a bungalow needing a mountain of work just to put it on the market. As they work together, they become good friends and a deep connection blossoms. But just as a romance forms, secrets from the past threaten to ruin it all.

After reading Changing Tides earlier this year, I could not wait to return to Cape May! Linny’s series digs into deep emotions and complex relationships. I love books where you genuinely feel an important friendship build and the hesitancy to move to something more and you definitely get that here! Miles and Jenna both go through some stuff (both individually and together) on their way to their HEA and wow does it feel well-earned when they finally get there. Linny beautifully captures the ache of grief, the hope of new beginnings, and the tender, tentative steps toward love. You can read this as a standalone novel, but it was so very fun to get to check in on the characters I loved from the first book!

🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: Produced by @simonaudio this dual narration, Elizabeth Louise and Sam Brooks are very good as Jenna and Miles in this deeply emotional performance!
