Soul Searching by Lyla Sage (Sept 30, 2025) Thank you, @prhaudio @thedialpress and @authorlylasage for the #gifted advanced listening copy! #prhaudioinfluencer
Collins Cartwright left Sweetwater Peak, Wyoming years ago with no intention to return. Then her twin sister calls with disturbing news that a developer is sniffing around their parents’ property, including the family antique store. Collins agrees to return – her parents don’t have to know the multitude of reasons why. She lost her job. She’s broke. The ghosts she’s spent her life communicating with have gone silent. But just because she’s coming home doesn’t mean she’s willing to live with her parents or her sister. Luckily, the local upholsterer has agreed to give Collins the spare bedroom over the store in exchange for some work around the shop. Newer resident Brady Cooper never would have agreed to give his spare room in a shared apartment to the Cartwright’s daughter if he had known she’d be stunning. Mesmerizing. And the ghosts. She also could be the one thing in his life that finally makes sense.
I did not know that I needed a ghost story version of Rebel Blue Ranch, but I absolutely, 100% required it. This is easily one of my favorite small towns an author has created in ages, and such a fun twist on paranormal that isn’t scary or comedic, but just such a satisfying, important part of the story. I really enjoyed how Collins and Brady’s stories and their evolution interconnected, and how their romance developed. Just as importantly, what Sage does so well is create families and found families that have powerful connections you cannot help but root for. I cannot wait for the next installment in this series – to see where the story goes next, how the characters evolve, and what’s next for the town of Sweetwater Peak.
๐ง Audiobook Thoughts: Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor absolutely shine in this duet narration that is charming, funny, and absolutely swoon-worthy! (8 hours)
