Fun at Parties by Jamie Harrow (Sept. 16, 2025) Thank you, @prhaudio and @duttonbooks for the #gifted advanced listening copy!

Popular online cycling instructor Quinn Ray is holding it together after her breakup with a fellow instructor until she loses it live during one of her sessions. Now she’s on a mandatory 3-week “vacation” to get her head straight. She sees this as a chance to travel cross country to her best friend’s 30th birthday party but when Nate, her estranged friend and onetime almost-more, pops in to the group chat to see if he can tag along for a leg of her trip, she can’t say no. But she doesn’t want to say yes. What starts as a day’s drive with Nate ends up becoming a chaotic cross country road trip chasing down a childhood friend while encountering crazy adventures along the way. As the Chos swirls, so does an undeniable connection between Quinn and Nate. Nate sees through the facade Quinn puts up, calling her on hard truths while Quinn sees strengths in Nate he can’t yet see for himself.

I love a good “the friend that almost became more in the past and I’ve never gotten out of my head” romance and this is such a fun one. They encounter both down-to-earth and over-the-top misadventures from LA to Vegas to Kansas and tons of other locations as they cross the country with a very Mrs. Nash’s Ashes charm. Their chemistry is palpable and readers, like almost everyone they encounter during their adventures, can FEEL IT. There is good backstory for both Quinn and Nate – and I really enjoyed the storylines about professional boundaries and toxic parents. This book has lots to offer and if you haven’t read One on One, Harrow’s 2024 release, I HIGHLY recommend it as well.

🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: Karissa Vacker. She narrates. I probably don’t have to say more but she just does a phenomenal job making these characters feel both emotionally vulnerable and over-the-top hilarious. (11h)
