First, if you read this book and don’t immediately check flights to Amsterdam, something is seriously wrong with you. It is a beautiful second chance romance and a love letter to a city and a culture. Second, how Dani and Wouter slowly navigate re-entering each other’s lives is so tender and heartfelt. The slow-burn way they try to keep romantic feelings at bay while navigating a fake marriage and living together is filled with tension and tender moments. Most importantly, Dani’s journey to find herself and break out of patterns of the past felt inspiring. You’ll fall in love with Dani, Wouter, their families, and Amsterdam.
🎧 Audiobook Thoughts 🎧 OK, this is my first audiobook by Elizabeth Lamont, and her solo narration is STUNNING. If you love books narrated by Alex Finke, like I do, she’ll be a new favorite. Did I do a Google search to see if Larmont was a pseudonym used by Finke? Yes, yes, I did. You’ll enjoy all 11 hours and 32 minutes.
