So Flocked is book two in the Crane Cove series, and with book four just around the corner, I never want to leave this charming “Spicy Stars Hollow” world.
Jordy Taylor is grappling with the potential end of his successful football career. He’s on the wrong side of 30 for an NFL player and is nervous about getting a contract for one final year. He’s decided to spend a few weeks in Crane Cove, where Graham, one of his best friends, is about to get married. Annie Price’s 10-year relationship imploded, and despite her PhD in ornithology, she can’t get a job in her field. She’s decided to spend a few weeks in Crane Cove, where her cousin, Eloise, is about to get married. Unfortunately, Graham and Eloise promised their people the same guest cottage. Cue forced proximity, undeniable attraction, and a no-strings-attached arrangement to pass the time before the wedding. But what starts as a fun, temporary fling turns into something deeper as Jordy and Annie see each other in ways no one else ever has.
In this second book, we revisit Graham and Eloise and see the wheels put into motion for future books focused on Sam and Peter. I love the vibes of this series, and both Jordy and Annie are so deeply earnest and likable. I’m a sucker for romantic relationships where the main characters help each other recognize their true dreams, and this one, like Keyed Up, does that beautifully. Also, like the first book, this one is as fun and funny as it is spicy.
