Give Me Butterflies by Jillian Meadows – This one had been on my TBR forever and I’m so glad I listened to them because this was downright adorable.
Millie is up for a promotion to director at the museum, where she serves as entomology curator. Her teammates love her, and she’s got a real shot at the promotion if she can stop sabotaging herself with the grumpy astronomer Finn, who is part of the hiring committee. But Finn has a good reason to be grumpy. He’s recently become the guardian for his young nieces and is navigating learning to be a parent while also doing his job well. As Finn and Millie learn more about each other, they realize how much their puzzle pieces fit together and how they each make the other better.
This book was a joy to read—a romance rooted in big, bold love and life’s messy, beautiful realities. Millie’s love for Finn’s nieces is as touching as her connection with him. I loved how their relationship unfolded with emotional maturity, especially given how much the children’s well-being was at stake. Watching Finn and the girls find a home with Millie (and her family!) while Millie discovers confidence and joy with them? So. Heartwarming. If you are looking for a sweet and spicy romance, this is a great one.
