From Flight to Mystery: A Tale of Disappearance

Written by

From the moment when Stephanie and Jasmine are randomly seated in the same row on a flight to Denver, neither of their lives will ever be the same. Stephanie is on her way to a convention while Jasmine is fleeing her abusive boyfriend. Days later, both Stephanie and Jasmine disappear, with their co-workers and loved having grown increasingly concerned by out of character texts and messages. And both of them have claimed to have met an incredible new man named Trent McCarthy.

The book unfolds through numerous POVs – Not only Stephanie and Jasmine but also neighbors, friends, and coworkers. There isn’t a central detective or police officer solving the crime, but rather readers are brought along as events unfold. At times we, as readers, know more than some of the narrators and at other times we know less. It is a really fun storytelling approach that I think was mostly successful. I didn’t love (but didn’t hate) the ending, but really, really enjoyed all of the parts of the story that got us to that point.

The audiobook has an all-star narration cast, each tacking one of the POVs of the book. Narrators include Andrew Eiden, Dylan Fitzpatrick, Fred Berman, Gail Shalan, Hillary Huber, Jennifer Pickens, John Pirhalla, Kimberly M. Wetherell, Kirby Heyborne, and Tim Campbell. This big cast gives character and depth to the story and really increased my enjoyment of the story overall. (9h 7m)
