Over six months ago, Harmony made the brave decision to leave her abusive husband and start fresh with her son. But she didn’t anticipate the relentless vindictiveness of her ex and his powerful, wealthy family. In their small town, they’ve blocked her at every turn—making it nearly impossible to find a job or a decent place to live. Desperate and running out of options, she moves into a dilapidated house she thought was her last chance.
Brady, her new neighbor, assumed Harmony was just another entitled member of her husband’s influential family—until he sees her struggles firsthand. Having witnessed the damage caused by her husband’s family through his own sister’s experience, Brady steps in to help. Offering Harmony a job and standing up to protect her from her ex, he becomes an unexpected ally. As their relationship deepens, Harmony and Brady find themselves torn between past pain and the possibility of forever.
This is not a light-hearted romance. Like the first book in the series, Forbidden Dreams tackles heavy topics, including domestic violence (not between the main characters) and the emotional trauma that follows. The story is also incredibly spicy, so be prepared for some serious heat.
What keeps me coming back to this series is Natasha Madison’s ability to balance intense themes with gripping, heartfelt romance. The small-town dynamic, caught under the shadow of a corrupt and powerful family, creates an addicting backdrop. Harmony and Brady’s journey is emotional, raw, and deeply rewarding. Cameos from other books add to the rich world-building and have me ready to dive into the earlier stories I haven’t read yet.
🎧 About the Audiobook 🎧 Once again, the duet narration by Gregory Salinas and Savannah Peachwood is exceptional. At 8 hours and 27 minutes, the performances capture the emotional weight of the story with care and precision, delivering a truly immersive experience.
