Rowan has clawed her way to a VP position in her family’s business, while her brother easily inherited the CEO title simply for being the eldest son. Despite her forward-thinking strategies to turn the company around, her brother stubbornly dismisses her input, leading to stagnating revenues. The breaking point? Rowan discovers her brother’s latest foolish scheme: selling controlling interest to Holden Knight, a ruthless millionaire notorious for dismantling businesses and selling them for profit. However, Holden surprises her by offering what her family never has—a real seat at the table and a say in the company’s future. But both are keeping explosive secrets that could tear them apart, despite the fierce attraction and confusing love-like feelings brewing beneath the surface.

This book! The first in a new series that I will 100% continue was highly addictive. It is a morally grey suspense romance I really, really enjoyed! First, Rowan and Holden are equals who are smart, opinionated and push each other. Neither needs the other, they want the other. Second, the suspense driving this story forward is twofold – with both Rowan and Holden keeping huge secrets from each other that readers are in on as they each navigate their plans to get revenge and come out on top.

The audiobook is a duet narration by Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connolly. I loved Connolly’s performance of Out on a Limb. It was as fast-paced as the story deserved. So much fun!
