by Sarah Adams (April 2, 2024) – Many thanks to @prhaudio for an advance listening copy, below is my honest review.

First and foremost, The Cheat Sheet is a personal favorite of mine, both in book and audiobook form. This set the bar high, but Sarah Adams effortlessly cleared it with The Rule Book. Her writing style is uniquely charming, evoking emotions that truly resonate with readers.

Ten years ago, Nora ended things with Derek, breaking his heart during their senior year in college. Now a successful NFL player, Derek is Nora’s first solo client as a rising sports agent. However, he still holds a grudge against her and does everything in his power to make her life as his agent miserable enough for her to quit. With encouragement from his Sharks teammates, Derek begins to realize that he may not hate Nora but is looking for excuses to be around her. Nora, determined to be the best agent Derek has ever had, refuses to give up despite his attempts to sabotage her. Everything changes when they wake up hungover and married in Vegas. Now, to save their careers, they have to pretend to be in love.

This book includes all the elements you love from Sarah Adams – witty banter, relatable friendships, emotional connections, and intense chemistry between the main characters. Derek and Nora’s love story is sure to captivate you as they confront their past and realize that your first love can also be your last. The book also features brief appearances by Nathan and Bree from The Cheat Sheet, which will leave you thrilled to see them again without taking away from Derek and Nora’s story. There is also an important storyline about women working in male-dominated fields. If you prefer Adams’ closed-door style, don’t worry. She writes only one open-door scene in this book, and she lets readers know which chapter to skip to keep things closed-door.

The audiobook narrators are PERFECT and Iโ€™ve already listened to it twice.
