Book: ๐๐๐๐ Audiobook: ๐๐๐๐๐ซ Spice: ๐ถ๏ธ๐ถ๏ธ
by Meghan Quinn
This is my second book by Quinn and Iโm pretty sure, after both being fantastic, Iโm going to have to read all of them.
Cooper, Ford and Palmer are the three children of Martin and Peggy Chance – and they couldnโt be any more different. Ford is now CEO of the family outdoor equipment business, Cooper is a book editor still trying to find his career passion while caring for their aging parents, and Palmer (the only daughter) is an Instagram influencer whose bank account and popularity arenโt what they used to be. When the whole family comes back together on their island home outside Seattle to plan Martin and Peggyโs 50th wedding anniversary, each of them is going to have to face some hard truths about themselves and their relationships to move ahead. Oh, andโฆCooper has it bad for his ex-wifeโs best friend, Ford doesnโt even realize that he is in love with his assistant, and Palmer is going to have to face her high school crush (now the local doctor).
Big messy families in small towns is one of my favorite parts of romance novels. What makes this one unique (and a ton of fun) is that Quinn doesnโt make this into a 3-book series, with each couple the focus of a singular book. In this one book, we get six different POVs as Cooper, Ford, Palmer, and their respective love interests come together to tell their stories in the weeks leading up to the anniversary party. What a very fun ride! The audiobook has three narrators, and they do a great job of navigating a cast of characters who all get almost equal time in the book.
