by Holly Gramazio (April 2, 2024) Many thanks to @PRHaudio for the gifted advance copy, hereโ€™s my honest reviewโ€ฆ

This book is such a wild ride! It takes you from funny to heartbreaking to thought-provoking. I love a good magical realism book, but Iโ€™ve always thought that if I were ever in that situation, I wouldnโ€™t handle it as calmly as the characters seem to. If youโ€™ve ever felt that way too, meet Lauren. Sheโ€™s about to get hundreds of new husbands and come a little unglued in the process.

Lauren returns (pretty drunk) to her London flat from a hen party and is greeted by her husband, but there is only one problem: sheโ€™s single and lives alone. Not only does she have this random husband, but everyone knows him and them as a couple. But, she doesnโ€™t have much time to consider this as he goes up to the attic to change a lightbulb, and a different husband returns down the ladder. Thus begins a chaotic revolving attic door of husbands, her life altered slightly with each new one. As Lauren tries on different lives, she keeps trying to figure out what one is โ€œrightโ€ for her.

Gramazio takes readers on a roller-coaster of emotions. What starts as super funny becomes dark as Lauren wonders if sheโ€™ll ever be able to stop trying on new lives and ends with a satisfying conclusion. It is a fun book that also makes you wonder if any life is perfect or if messy, complicated lives and the work we put into them is better.
