by Katie Shepard (September 3, 2024) Many thanks to @prhaudio and @berkleyromance for gifted print and audio advanced copies. Below is my honest review.
Rose and Tom were college sweethearts who got married too young and divorced quickly. Now, over a decade later, Tom, a broadway actor, finds himself cheating death in a hurricane and decides to leave Rose a voicemail confessing that heβs always loved her and would do anything to get her back. Rose doesnβt initially get the message but when she does, sheβs in a jam – her family has backed out of helping her restore her auntβs hurricane-damaged inn. So she decides to see if Tom really meant heβd do ANYTHING to get her back. Over the next three months, Tom, Rose, and a growing cast of Broadway actors and fans become a chaotic little family as they work to return the inn to working order.
The found family and madcap home improvements are the highlights of this story. I really enjoyed these people came together to care for each other and to stand up to Roseβs awful family. However, there are some second chance romance books where you feel like it is pretty clear the main characters are just not a good fit for each other and thatβs how I felt here.
The audiobook is narrated by Savannah Peachwood is a spectacular narrator who put her all into this performance.
