Gemma’s long-term boyfriend dumped her, and she’s still reeling from having spent four wasted years with him. So, she does the only logical thing – finds a ridiculous old spell book and performs a love-cleansing spell with the help of a lot of margaritas, her best friend Dax, her sister, and her cooky aunt. She wishes she’d never met her ex. When she wakes up the following day, everything is different. And although some things are better, her best friend no longer knows her. As she attempts to find a way back to her reality, she embarks on a quest to win back Dax but begins to see him in a very different light.

This is a sweet story about an essential friendship. You 100% feel Gemma and Dax as best friends and hurt for her loss of that friendship. Gemma’s sister and aunt and the friend group that surrounds Dax and Gemma are incredibly fun. It is a charming little story and lots of fun. It is slightly lighter and less reflective than some other time-travel romances I’ve read recently, but absolutely enjoyable and worth reading.

The narration is delightful and makes you feel these friendships even more intensely.
