When Corrie Mejia is asked to join an archeological dig in Mexico that aligns perfectly with her expertise on an ancient Aztec warrior, it sounds too good to be true, and once she arrives, she learns why. Her nemesis, Ford Matthews, is leading the team, which is ironic since she has more expertise in the subject. Ford may look devastatingly handsome, but his life is a devastating disaster, and Corrie being there only makes matters worse. But, their shared passion for archeology means they have to join forces to not only make a once-in-a-lifetime discovery but also to navigate thieves, smugglers, the authorities, and an undeniable attraction.

It’s a perfect quick read to reset after a really intense book. It has a great little whodunnit, a quest to find an ancient artifact and a classic professional rivals trope. You won’t think deeper about yourself or discover a profound deeper meaning, but you will have an absolute blast reading this book that comes out on 12/5/2023.
