Book: ππππ Spice: πͺ/πΆοΈ
By Loren Sorensen
The Trouble with Christmas is a wonderful read-in-one-day novella from Loren Sorensen that is a fun read to add to your holiday-themed reading list.
Rayanne has always loved Christmas, but this year, she finds herself in a new apartment with her friends and family out of town when she needs to get a Christmas tree. The only person available to help is Caleb, Rayanneβs best friendβs younger brother. She knows he had a thing for her in the past and doesnβt want to create an awkward situation or lead him onβ¦but she really wants her Christmas tree.
Caleb, now a successful chef, is 100% over his teenage crush on Rayanne. 100%. Right up until she calls for help with a Christmas tree, and he is drawn back into her irresistible orbit.
You will fall in love with Rayanne and Caleb as they navigate (potentially) leaving the friend zone. Although they both want more, I enjoy how carefully Sorensen writes the evolution of their relationship, as they both know what they are putting at risk. This novella is the setup for an upcoming novel about Rayanne and Caleb, and it very successfully leaves you wanting to learn more about these two.
Thanks to Loren Sorensen for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. This book, which will put you in the definitely Christmas spirit, is available in print and KU on 11/27/2023.
