Book: ๐๐๐๐ Spice: ๐ถ๏ธ๐ถ๏ธ
By Helena Hunting
I read this book a while ago and recently realized Iโve used it in several posts as a comparison book but have not provided a review. So, here it is!
Declan and Avery are roommates and have been best friends since college. When Dec gets drunk, has a one-night stand, and bails on their plans to drive up to their college reunion together, he could never have known that Avery would get in a devastating car accident. He blames himself and commits to being the best caregiver possible as she battles back physically and emotionally. Long-suppressed feelings return through the intimacy of caregiving, but are they worth risking such a meaningful friendship? Particularly when Dec is a notorious womanizer.
This is a book that I didnโt expect to love as much as I did. Avery and Declanโs friendship and their friend group are fantastic. How Avery and her two very different sisters navigate running a business together is fraught with challenges and love. There is depth and complexity to Decโs distrust in relationships. The witty banter, sibling rivalry, and concerned friends make this a great read that Iโve returned to several times. It is also the first in a series, with each sister taking a turn as the main character.
