It doesn’t hurt that he’s easy on the eyes. But someone is out to thwart the Villain, which means everyone in his employ is at risk. Can Evie and the Villain find out who is after them before they get caught?

Assistant to the Villain reads like a fun fairy tale where the romantic lead is a killer disinterested in being a hero but constantly stepping into the role when it comes to his assistant, Evie. The first third of the book is setting the stage and character-building. You come to know and enjoy these strange characters. The pace picks up in the remainder of the book, with tons of action and revelations in the final chapters. Maehrer pulls it all together and leaves you wanting more in the final pages (two more books are planned in the series).
