Book: 4.5🌟 Audiobook: 4🌟 Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

By Elsie Silver

I had seen this book series EVERYWHERE, and now I understand why. Thanks to @books_andabrew and @onthesamebloomingpage for buddy reading with me and putting up with an American describing bull-riding and Yellowstone.

Summary: Rhett is a 2-time champion bull rider closing in on the end of a career marked by incredible riding, an aversion to authority, and getting any woman he wants. Summer is a lawyer and one of the youngest members of her father’s PR firm. When Rhett unexpectedly finds himself in a PR nightmare that risks all of his sponsorships, Summer is sent in to manage him on the competition circuit and restore his reputation.

My Thoughts:

If you are looking for a spicy cowboy romance, I think you’ll enjoy this one. Although it starts a little slow, the story quickly picks up and has big Yellowstone vibes with a ranch and complex family relationships. I liked how Summer and Rhett’s relationship helped them see how their long-entrenched personal characteristics were holding them back from happiness. There was a storyline with Summer’s sister and brother-in-law that I felt could have been cut, but since this is a series, maybe it is setting up something in the future. Fair warning: the last 60-70% of this book is spicy.

The audiobook was good but didn’t do a ton to advance the story and I found the print book more easily held my attention.
