Mia teaches English, is deeply spontaneous, chaotic, drinks too much, doesn’t take care of herself as much as she should, and loves sex. Ed teaches science, is detail oriented and methodical, loves to bake, and cares for Mia when she drinks too much. He is also a virgin, a secret he had told no one until one drunk night with Mia. Mia decides that she should teach Ed about sex to prepare him to ask out Caitlin, the new teacher at school. As Mia educates Ed, their friendship deepens, and their connection grows. When Ed starts dating Caitlin, Mia worries she isn’t who she appears to be, but is it because of Caitlin or her growing feelings for Ed? Bundle in complicated families, meddling co-workers, and unpredictable students; it is a winner.

This book is sweet, fun, and FUNNY! Ed and Mia’s friendship is both wacky and tender, and his earnestness in the sex ed process is adorable. Although sex is obviously a core component of the book, there is nothing overly graphic, but there is discussion of toys and porn. The audio narration is excellent, with great pacing and voices.
