Lexi Bennett returns in this fast-paced follow-up to The Girls on Chalk Hill. Lexi finds herself as the unplanned first-on-scene detective at the suicide of a young teen. Suicides usually are not within her caseload, but she feels obligated to see it through. However, with another teen suicide and oddities about the scenes, Lexi begins questioning whether these are suicides or murders.

As with the first book in this series, this story is full of tension and action. There is something about Belsham’s writing style that makes action-infused, complex plots easy to follow and smooth to read. You get sucked into the story and forget you are reading at all.

I did a buddy read of this book, and we all finished it days ahead of schedule because we were so caught up in the story.
