Harriet, Chloe, and Sabrina met in college and, despite their differences, became each other’s found family. Over time, their group expanded to include friends P and Wyn, then later Kimmie, and the three couples continued the tradition of vacationing in Maine every summer. Now living in different parts of the country, they reunite for one last trip to the Maine house before it is sold. Harriet and Wyn broke up months ago but didn’t have the heart to tell their friends, so they decided to fake it for the week to not ruin their last vacation together. Happy Place is told in a dual timeline bringing us through moments that got the characters to where they are today. This book is deep and heart-wrenching. What we give up for those we love, how we evolve from college to adulthood, finding the truth in who we are separate from how others define us.
