Much like her Knockemout series, Lucy Score creates a world in which you are irrationally sad that the fictional town and townspeople don’t actually exist. From the town concerts to the local furniture store and all of the people you meet along the way, you can’t help but fall in love with Kindred, Idaho. I love how, as Maggie’s relationship with Silas grows, we see Maggie’s heart expand in all sorts of new ways, and as she rebuilds the house, she begins to tear down her past expectations of herself.
