Rysand, A Court of Thorns and Roses

There are a few Instagram-hyped book series that are legitimately amazing and this is one of them. If you aren’t traditionally a fantasy fiction reader, this is a great place to start. The combination of the first 2 books of the series is quite possibly some of the best reading I’ve done in years. 

Sarah J Maas does several of my favorite things exceptionally well with these books. First, she creates a world of rich and complex characters and places that draws you in and makes you want to know more – not just about the main characters but about the place, time, and minor characters. Second, she crafts a story that artfully takes the reader down a storytelling path they don’t even realize they are on but deeply enjoy.
